What is Blended Learning?

According to the National Education Association, blended learning is “an education program that integrates a virtual and face-to-face learning environment for students.” In a blended learning environment:

🔺 Students have some control over place, path, and pace of learning

🔺 Learning usually occurs through an integrated curriculum

🔺 The learning cycle flows best when unpacked as pre-learning activities that prepare students to engage in both the virtual and face-to-face learning environment

🔺 The next phase of learning is the instructor-led session in which the educator directs student activities to ensure that learning goals are met

🔺 Post-learning activities in which the educator uses evaluative data to provide appropriate assignments that reinforce and expand learning goals

How can Litmus facilitate blended learning in you classroom?

Litmus is a fully integrated learning platform designed to allow you to set up all aspects of your classroom without having to juggle multiple apps and tools with all different logins, recreating every piece of content from one context to the next.

🔹Upload your roster and create a class based on your subject and grade level. Create new lesson plans, import and enhance existing ones, or use proven lessons already populated into the platform

🔹Litmus Learn helps create and assign learning experiences for your students, including interactive video, game-based learning, simulations, flash cards, and much more

🔹There’s also a ‘social document’ feature that allows students to collaborate in real time or asynchronously to support each other’s learning

🔹One of the most powerful features is the Confidence Assessment – real-time data on what your students know and how confident they are in their knowledge

🔹Teachers get useful feedback on student learning that can be directly applied to lesson planning

🔹Litmus Learn helps engage students even when they are outside of the classroom, through games, social documents, and simulations.

🔹You can use your Google account to get started right away!

Right now Litmus Learn is in early stages, looking to maximize how we can best help teachers save time, engage students, and facilitate blended learning in their classrooms. We want to see how we can be even better in helping teachers. We need feedback from you to get it right.
